EDC CANDIDATE: Kaitlyn Mathews
STATEMENTS SUBMITTED TO RECEIVE IN-PERSON INTERVIEW:
QUESTION: Statement of Interest (Why I wish to serve on the Board/Commission)
ANSWER: I wish to serve on a board or commission for the city of Celina because I am invested in the success of the city and would like to give back to the community through service. When my husband and I moved here from Tennessee in 2018, we visited Celina and it immediately felt like home. Since we moved to Cambridge Crossing in 2021, we’ve voted in local elections, gotten to know the folks who are serving, leading, and volunteering in Celina, and I think there’s something special about what’s happening here. The magic of Celina, and what makes it feel like home for so many people, is all about the people who live, work, and serve here. I’m excited about the future of the city and continuing to create that magic for generations to come, and would like to offer my business and strategic planning skills in service to Celina.
QUESTION: Please indicate any business or personal experience applicable to the board/commission you are applying for:
ANSWER: Currently I am a project and program manager for a financial technology company. My role requires project management, collaboration, strategic planning, communication, and decision making, long range planning and budgeting, change management, negotiation and relationship management with third party vendors and executives, and more. I previously served as a board member on the Community Development Corporation for the city of Princeton, and led the community center project through finalization of construction into preparing for opening.
